  • Setting and executing design visions and strategies for new products and features, and collaborating with PM partners to gtm

Scaling UX via design and research ops

Often my work in ops has sat at the intersection of product design and operations, where I’ve not only set up programs that remove blockers and scale UX, but have also designed the products, websites, or applications that supported those programs.

Key projects + products delivered:

  • A research repository software tool for a 100+ person global insights team for a Fortune 500 company

  • Redesign of an internal project management, request, and tracking software tool for a global industrial connection and data flow manufacturing company

  • Multiple research recruitment programs, websites, and tracking for companies of various sizes, including a startup incubator, a global data protection and endpoint management company, and a health tech company

Research and design ops skills

  • Building participant recruitment programs, processes, and related tooling (I.e., scheduling infrastructure, recruitment websites)

  • Leveraging email marketing, social media, and creative advertising skills to create targeted participant recruitment campaigns

  • Research templates, training, and organization

  • Budget and tooling; tooling processes and best practices

  • Research knowledge management and repositories, including leveraging knowledge of taxonomy and CMS tooling

  • Process creation, improvement, and standardization

  • Design principles, UX workflows, and design process ceremonies

  • Standardization of design artifacts and templates

Design systems

I’ve led teams in the creation, maintenance and support for a range of design systems, from small UI kits and style guides for smaller websites or businesses to full-scale enterprise design systems, including.

  • Design and build of a UI kit, asset library, style guide, web components, and documentation for a disparate enterprise software company that had varying code bases, disconnected databases, and a wide product surface area that had various levels of ability to adopt a design system.

  • UI kit, asset library, illustrations, and style guide for a SaaS ecommerce website.

  • UI kit, asset library, web components, and documentation that enabled external partners to develop apps and UI extensions within the core product ecosystems that look, feel, and behave like the native product.

  • Full design system as a product - Figma library, code, documentation website, contribution model, component lifecycle strategy and process, governance, and roadmap - for a large enterprise software company.

Team management and organizational growth

  • Organizational redesigns and scaling for design organizations ranging in size from about 10 to close to 100

  • Hiring, interviewing, and onboarding programs, processes, and documentation

  • Team structure and planning around product groups, functional areas, and skillsets

  • Creation of growth matrices for design, UX writing, and research
